Monday.
So there we were sat in London in the January drizzle, drinking tea, eating biscuits and talking through the week ahead when we had the great idea to start a blog. I mean what could be more interesting than the ramblings of our small production music team. Now if you are wondering what production music is then read on, if not then you probably want to come back when it gets more interesting. Production music, or library music or mood music, is music which we record specifically for Broadcast. I'm talking about that little toe tapping number behind Escape to the Country, that tune played on the jukebox in the Queen Vic the music which adds the emotion, sets the scene and sometimes if we are really lucky drives you insane on an advert. That's what we do, we think about music that TV people might like, then we find musicians, record it and go pitch to the people that make TV....and radio....and adverts... and corporate video.. and film trailers and... well you get my drift.
So this is us, there are 5 of us: 1 who manages the whole thing, 2 who music supervise and schmooze, 1 who spends his days looking at metadata and an accountant. We often debate getting an office cat and we once spent a whole Monday morning meeting talking about getting some office fish but we worried about them being lonely at weekends so instead we went for plants, this is what happened:
Consequently today we decided new year, new blog, new plants required.
