There was no doubt about what the subject of this week’s
blog post would be. No. Doubt. At. All. This time of year always seems to be a
busy one in the media/music world and it
can sometimes be a bit of a struggle to find time to do blog posts and the like
in between music searches and meetings. BUT there is always time for a blog post
highlighting one’s favourite time of year: Halloween.
Halloween is just bloody great. It’s fun, it’s creepy, it’s
creative. Its place in the calendar is perfect too, when the autumn nights
creep in and it’s getting dark by the time you have left work. It appeals to my
inner goth so bad. The horror screenings are out in full force, fancy dress
shops are making a fortune and everyone just seems to be a bit more inspired
and creative.
What makes it even better is being able to embrace all of it
for the whole month of October and beyond! It sort of comes with the territory
of working in music for film and TV that there are lots of opportunities for
creepy going-ons. This year, one of the catalogues we sub-publish, Artful Production
Music, bought out a spine-chilling album ‘The Horrors 2’. We fully embraced its
arrival by producing a short horror promo video. It included lots of fake blood
and melting green filter gels, and most importantly, a spooky soundtrack. The
latter is something MyDrive Music happens to do very well…
You want real creepy, we’ve got it covered. You want cheesy Halloween
tracks, we’ve got it covered. You want Tim-Burton-esque gothic fantasy tracks, you know the score... Make your last minute Halloween promos the crème de la crème
and simultaneously freak yourself out by listening to the following:
P.S. Thank you London for keeping it creepy [see pic]
P.P.S. Can't believe how many times I've used the word creepy.
