Indiesonic & Cinematic Piano

IndieSonic (JW2247)

The first album for JW from composing duo, The Huntsmen, is a loud exciting slice of drum-driven Indie Pop/Rock. This in itself deserved some seriously interesting cover action, so we set to work on finding just that. Luckily for us, we met the amazing aural artist Kellie Ahl. Kellie works by listening to sounds, our album in this case, and interpreting them onto canvas to create an image of what she hears. We were so excited by this idea and the whole idea of sounds and colours and interpretation of the album that we commissioned her straight away! After all production music is all about setting the scene, and drawing viewers into the broadcast and we are rather impressed with the finished result. Check out the video below to see how Kellie created the cover art for us:

Another new composer to the JW stable and this one comes from Tim Benjamin, one of the UK’s most exciting new composers of Modern Opera and Classical music in the UK, “Tim Benjamin gives a masterclass in how to create a one-handed opera twice over in his Life Stories ... If Harold Pinter had ever written an opera, this would surely be it.”  High praise indeed. We loved recording this beautiful moving collection of Cinematic Piano pieces for our library. All recorded live on stage at the Royal College of Music in Manchester over two days, this is production music which really does blur the lines between library and commercial.
